MORNING! room 603
Apr. 29th, 2006 | 12:51 pm
He starts jumping on his bed and hopes for the hundred millionth time that his braid doesn't come undone because he doesn't think he knows how to put it back together without Sister Helen's help yet. And she's back on L2. And if his hair comes undone it'll get in the way when he's stealing stuff again! That would suck!
Now Duo's super bored. Why is this room so boring?! Just weirdo Hamlet with his plastic knives stuck on the wall. What good are they doing stuck on the wall where Duo can't throw them?! That just doesn't make any sense!
And Duo's still hungry!
He makes an AWESOME flying tumbling flipping leap off his bed and zooms out the door.

Subject: Hamlet Dane, Jr
Body:
Hello, Professors, this is Duo Maxwell, Hamlet's roommate. He appears to have had a run-in with some strange artifact earlier this evening and has been turned into a statue. I'm pretty sure this is temporary and I'm working on fixing this minor problem. I just thought I should let you all know, in case he happens to miss a class or two this week. Thanks for your time, and sorry for any inconveniences! Oh, and this isn't a case of "my dog ate my homework;" he's there in the 6th floor common room if you want to poke him, though it won't do anything, I tried.

Sunday afternoonish, Room 603 - Uh oh.
Feb. 19th, 2006 | 02:47 pm
This is normally a potentially dangerous situation, (would YOU like to be cooped up in a small dorm room with a hyperactive space terrorist who's bored??) however, he decides to do something productive and starts to take inventory on all the pieces of mechanical junk he's got lying all over the room.
He starts going around the room, looking under things, tossing stuff all over, when he accidentally knocks into the endtable where his and Hamlet's answering machine sits, sending it careening off the table and onto the floor.
Where it explodes into many, many small pieces.
Duo watches, wide-eyed, as all the pieces come to rest relatively close to the table, where he can easily pick them up and put them back together. All of them, except, of course, one particularly shaped washer-type piece, which rolls across the floor, under a pile of precariously balanced tool boxes, past Hamlet's knife collection and into a crack in the wall, never to be seen again.
"Damn it!" Duo says, staring murderously at the crack in the wall. "Now where am I gonna find a piece like that to put this stupid thing back together?!"

room 603, Friday night
Jan. 27th, 2006 | 09:29 pm
He's from space, so he's used to the cold, but the snow? Pretty much new; there wasn't even any snow that time he went to Siberia, maybe because of technological advances in climate control or something. Plus he was blowing lots of stuff up at the time, so snow wasn't exactly a priority.
Still, he doesn't venture out into the blizzard just yet. It's too dark. He's waiting for tomorrow when he hasn't got any classes.
He wonders vaguely how well "pillow fort" would translate into "snow fort," and grins.

Thursday night, room 603
Jan. 19th, 2006 | 10:18 pm
The reason for the recent clumsiness and use of extremities other than the normal ones needed to open a door is immediately apparent; Duo's right arm is currently in a sling. He hauls his bag into the room with his good arm and kicks the door shut behind him.
In addition to the broken arm, there's a big bandage above Duo's right eye and his clothes look a little worse for wear. Regardless, Duo's sporting a smile, though it seems to be a bit thin.
"Good to be back." He says, sighs, and plops onto his bed.
[[ooc: Home, yay! :D]]

early Friday morning, room 603
Jan. 13th, 2006 | 11:34 am
"What in the hell is this?" He says, still half asleep.
( Duo's phonecall )
[[ooc: Yes, this translates to Duo leaving for a few days. Teachers have already or will be notified shortly. This is just the reason why. :D]]

Tuesday evening, room 603
Jan. 10th, 2006 | 09:31 pm
This is potentially hazardous.
His big suitcase from Christmas break is sitting open on his floor completely filled with mechanical parts and tools, the small backpack he brought as an afterthought filled with some spare clothes is also open on the floor and spilling out. He's tinkering around with some spare parts that he somehow found underneath Hamlet's bed next to all the emo poetry books and humming what sounds like Church hymnals to himself.
Mr. Canute Mimir Fluffypants sits, deactivated, on his usual shelf next to Yorick, staring serenely off into space. Duo notices the E-Z-Bake Oven that Marty gave the pink terror for Christmas nearby, as well. He looks up at the little rabbit.
"Should I put that thing together for ya, little guy?" He asks rhetorically with a grin and turns back to his tinkering.
He hears a squeak from the rabbit's direction and looks up. The rabbit stares back.
"Riiiight." Duo says, cocking an eyebrow. "That's JUST what you need, more pie!" He shakes his head and grins again. "Yeah, yeah, lemme just finish up on this..."

room 603, 1/9 Monday afternoon
Jan. 9th, 2006 | 03:40 pm
He patted his little evil pink friend gently on the head before listening to his two messages.
He looks slightly confused.
He decides the first one could potentially be useful, the implications of it completely going over Duo's head. The second, one, he squints at and listens to again, wondering why in the heck he gets stuck with crazy guys with weird accents yelling at him all the time.
Duo shrugs and wonders what everyone's been up to.

OOC availability for the time being
Dec. 20th, 2005 | 12:40 am
During finals week.
With all her papers still on it.
SO. After what could possibly have been the worst 9 hours of her life, she managed to have the Geek Squad do a data backup on her computer, travel 30 minutes at 10PM to a Best Buy and get software so she can actually OPEN her papers due to them being in a FRAKKING OLD program from her FRAKKING OLD laptop, and finally get at her papers and email one at 11:13 that was due at 11:59.
She's currently on her little brother's computer, but, as you might imagine, this is going to cut her availability until she gets a new computer. Hopefully tomorrow. After she takes the old one out into the backyard and goes Office Space on it.*
That being said, I will be around sparingly for the next couple of days, so if you need me, please email Duo (duo.maxwell@fandomhigh.com), because I will be checking email (because on top of all the computer madness, there is probably going to be a NYC transit strike and then I will be unable to even get anywhere in Manhattan without walking).
Gah!!!!!!!! *loves you all*
*Yes. I am actually going to do this. I'll post pictures.

room 603
Dec. 13th, 2005 | 05:57 pm
He very carefully searches near Mr. Canute Mimir Fluffypants, taking great pains not to disturb the pink menace, and finally finds what he was looking for near the window (he probably tossed it there after chucking it out of the closet the other day) and plops back down on his bed to continue tinkering.
After a minute, he inexplicably glances back up at Mr. Canute Mimir Fluffypants and looks at him long and hard.
Duo thinks maybe he owes it to the little terror to try and work out the more unsavory kinks...

room 603, watch out for flailing Gundam pilot
Dec. 7th, 2005 | 08:55 pm
So, for that reason, he set about tossing around all manner of mechanical parts, trying to see if he could make himself what they call a "D-V-D player." After that, he's on a mission to find more strange movies, because, after all, they're teaching him something about his heritage.
Even if no one really owned lamps shaped like women's legs.

OOC seeing FH charries in person!!
Dec. 4th, 2005 | 09:06 pm
I went to see "Dog Sees God" tonight, an off-Broadway show that's in previews here in NYC, and in the cast was Eliza Dushku, Ian Somerhalder, Eddie Kaye Thomas, Logan Marshall-Green and America Ferrera.
I had to mention this here because OMG! Faith and Boone go here!
And you know you're FH-addicted when all you can do is go, "HOLY CRAP FAITH! YOU NEED TO DO THE RADIO BROADCAST WITH YOUR PUPPIES!"
XD But, yeah. Squee-worthy because sweet! Eliza's way hot. And I love Logan because I looooved Trey on The OC. Total squee. :D

the day before Thanksgiving
Nov. 23rd, 2005 | 06:01 pm
After a while, he gets a bit frustrated.
"Man!" He complains aloud. "This is gonna be tougher than I thought! Do I wear traditional Pilgrim clothes to this dinner? And where am I going to find someone's weird drunken uncle to come? That's a must, apparently, and I'm sure as heck not askin' Hamlet, his uncle's weird enough!"
He furrows his brow and keeps researching.

OOC and a QUESTION for you all
Nov. 21st, 2005 | 12:48 pm
1. Duo doesn't have a traditional family by ANY means (his "family" at the moment consists of the cast of GW, which means 4 other terrorists, a whole long list of soldiers fighting a war, and a crazy scientist who trained him to be a terrorist) much less a family to celebrate American Thanksgiving with, on top of the fact that he's still homeless (because I'm playing him in-series, he doesn't officially live with Hilde yet).
2. While I may be going home for a few days, I'll have internet access the entire time, and the actual day of Thanksgiving (Thursday) I'll be available as I usually am, after CSI (*snicker*), because for various reasons my extended family comes over early in the day for food and then leaves.
THAT BEING SAID. Duo IS an American, and takes that fact very seriously, because he feels like, at the very LEAST, his ethnicity gives him a group of people to identify with, if he can't identify with anyone else because of his status as a war orphan, then a plague survivor, then the only survivor of a massacre at a Church, and now as a 15-year old terrorist (OMG HE'S SO TROUBLED WTF?! XD).
SO. QUESTION. I was wondering if there is going to be any sort of Thanksgiving celebration for all the kids who would celebrate, but aren't actually leaving FH. If not, who wants to organize one with me? If Duo gets involved it'll most likely be a ridiculously overdone attempt at "Thanksgiving," since he only has American history to help him figure out what happens, so it might be funny. ^^ Plus, he'll INSIST that any non-Americans that are hanging around MUST attend so that he can feed them and regale them with stories of American Thanksgiving that he just looked up. *g*

Friday room 603
Nov. 18th, 2005 | 04:32 pm
He checks his messages, calls John back, and turns back to the appliances, humming what sounds suspiciously like a church hymnal.
[[ooc: Between an hours-long visit to the office of student services, trying to sort out core requirements for graduation, finally remembering to eat, midnight showing of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, class this morning, and a required class trip to the Met later, I've been and will be slightly busy for a bit. XD I'll be back tomorrow when I have to write a paper because we all know I'll be here instead of doing that. :D]]

Room 603
Nov. 14th, 2005 | 01:00 pm
mood:
bouncy
Now, in a totally awesome advancement of modern technology and probably one of the most annoying things a toaster and coffeemaker could do, they both give you extended running commentary on the intricate processes of toasting and perolating; in Duo's laughing, enthusiastic voice.
He makes himself a PopTart...
("...Wow! The coils sure heat up fast on this baby! But then again, it's all a matter of heat induction, which is a wonderful perk of modern science! Oh look! The edges are turning brown! I bet that means it's almost done! Unless you picked the 'dark' setting, in which case, I'll keep talking!...")
...and a cup of coffee...
("...Water and coffee beans grinded up together--who would have thought it would taste good? Oh hey! The water's pretty near boilin' now! That means it's about to pour some nice hot java right into your favorite cup! I bet your cup's got one of those silly sayings on it about not being a mornin' person! Oh the coffee's almost done! Sure smells good! Are you makin' French Vanilla or somethin' today?...")
...before noticing the light blinking on his voicemail. He listens to the message, grins, and decides to head over to Study Hall to see if Bridge is around; there's nothing like mutating your home appliances before going off to see if you can turn a toy rocket into a engine-powered terror of the skies.

Wha...huh? *looks around* What's the radio still doing on?? Hamlet, I thought we turned it off after listening to the Pirate? *notices Mr. Canute Mimir Fluffypants sitting serenely on his perch, which is mysteriously near the phone AND the radio, and a black paperweight lying near him*
*raises his eyebrows*
Right. Nevermind. Carry on! *pulls his blanket back over his head*

Also a huge thanks to my partner-in-crime, Hamlet-mun, who is not only an extremely smart and talented player, but allows Hamlet to put up with Duo's constant chatter and pestering so that we can have the two of them get into even MORE trouble antics. :D *loves*
